Administrators

GatorEvals relies on two key groups of administrators whose roles ensure that course evaluations are accurate, meaningful, and useful across the university.

Department Administrators (DIG users)

DIG users support the evaluation process by managing the course and instructor information before evaluations are launched. Their work involves reviewing every course under their purview to ensure the data is complete and up‑to‑date, and to check for the accuracy of instructors, to update course evaluation start and end dates, to publish courses that are set to Evaluate Yes. Their careful data preparation ensures that students receive the correct evaluations and that instructors receive accurate results.

Academic Leaders

College and department leaders, including deans, associate deans, and department chairs use evaluation results to support instructional quality and inform academic planning within their units. The GatorEvals system provides a range of reports that offer valuable insights into faculty course delivery and instructional effectiveness, enabling leaders to interpret data, identify trends, and facilitate meaningful conversations about teaching and program improvement.

Academic leaders also consider student evaluation results when nominating outstanding faculty for departmental, college, or UF teaching awards opens in a new tab. Additionally, they work collaboratively with faculty who may benefit from additional support by identifying and recommending targeted professional development opportunities, including those offered by the Center for Teaching Excellence opens in a new tab and relevant discipline-specific workshops or conferences.

Together, these two groups form the administrative backbone of GatorEvals: DIG users ensure the integrity of the data that feeds the system, while academic leaders use the resulting insights to foster a culture of continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
