Symbolism Behind the Logo

The logo for GatorEvals was carefully crafted by Kimberly Ramírez with the guiding concept that “The student has the power to collaborate with UF faculty to improve together”.

The logo embodies how evaluations provide an opportunity for faculty and students to collaborate to enhance the educational experience at UF. Through evaluations, students provide feedback, which the faculty may incorporate into their courses. The pencil represents the initial feedback from students, and the pen represents the finalized changes that faculty make in response to students’ feedback.  The speech bubbles signify the ongoing and constructive conversation between the students and faculty. Purple emerges from the overlap of the speech bubbles to represent the merging of ideas to form new and improved ones.

About the Designer

Kimberly Ramírez is a junior graphic design and advertising double major at the University of Florida. Kimberly is from Puerto Rico and loves design and branding, as well as being a Gator at the University of Florida. She designed the logo in Fall 2018 at UF’s MINT Studio.
